These above categories of colleges are further divided into quotas to distinguish different admission process and their respective terms as under:
All India Quota (AIQ) – A central pool of 15% Government Seats from All Government Medical Colleges of India. AIIMS/BHU/JIPMER/AMU – These are the Central Institutions, which are open for all Indian Domicile students. 100% Seats of all the above and 50% of AMU & JIPMER Seats are Available to all Indian Students based on merit as per their Category. Counselling for AIQ seats is conducted by MCC (Medical Counselling Committee).
State Government & Private Medical Colleges: – Counselling for admission in 85% of the All State Government Medical Colleges and 100% seats in All State Private Medical Colleges is conducted by the respective State Govt.
Deemed Medical Universities – 100% Seats of Deemed Medical University Counselling are conducted by MCC (Medical Counselling Committee).
